Early Morning Rambles

We had to wake up a bit earlier than usual today as we had an appointment for the furnace to be cleaned. When he got here (after going next door to my parent's house first.. the last name being the same causes some confusion at times), he informed us that because our system uses gas instead of oil, he didn't need to do a thing, that the system is running beautifully. Well, at least we know now. I guess it's the oil furnaces that need servicing every year.

We did have him disconnect the old broken gas dryer from the gas line, though, so the tech's time was not totally wasted. Now we have the room to move the electric dryer next to the washing machine, and shorten the air tube. Yeah.

This is all fascinating blogging, isn't it?

We stayed up late and listened to Barack Obama speak last night, and he was pretty darn great, don't you think? And the fact that it was all happening on the same day as the 45th anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I Have A Dream" speech, well that was just an awesome beautiful wonderful thing... Sigh. Finally, things are getting a little more real with this country.

Here's a neat photo taken by a great photographer named Petro, of me playing with Don's band at the party last Saturday.

Hi Kate,
Nice to see you on a new blog, and with a pic of you playing music.
COOL ;)
I'm glad that your furnace app't went so easily ! We have a gas operated water heater that heats our rooms in winter. Once a year, there's a checkup. Just those things you have to do.

Take care.

Thanks Dragonstar. It's nice to have a decent photo taken of yourself now and then.
